In the edition of last September 19, mister José Uzal, under the title “Ike and Cuba” published in the section "Take note" a comment about the sequestration to the island in which better that to report, misinforms the reader. Example: he assures that “the president John F. Kennedy imposed on February 2, 1961 the blockade against Castro's government”. False. On the topic they have been published, to say it in the linguistic self-confidence of a peasant of my people, 'sepetecientos' books, chronicles and memoirs. But it is not necessary to be an investigator on the topic; it is enough to be doing very badly in the Internet in Wikipedia and he will verify that the date was: February 7 of 1962, one year and five days later.
As curious fact – and that appears in the memoirs of Pierre Salinger - also we think in Wikipedia that Kennedy postponed the announcement of the prohibition of trading with Cuba several days, until his secretary of press, Salinger, was obtaining the biggest quantity of Cuban Havana cigars. Salinger him appeared some days later with 1.200 H. Hupmans. And this way Kennedy prohibited that to buy to him, between other things, Cuban tobacco. Good lesson for those who believe fanatically in the political demigods of above.
Turning mister Uzal, this one makes sure that the administration Bush, “pressed by strong republican taxpayers it has allowed more I trade with Cuba that all the previous administrations”. False. It was in the year 2001, after the step of the hurricane “Michele“ that it caused big damages to Cuba, that Castro, as now, pushed the donations of Washington back and claimed that they were selling to him to the island products of the first need based on exceptional circumstances, like natural disasters. This was contemplated in the laws – they are different - of the sequestration.
The administration Bush gained access to it, calculating that it was a question of an exceptional and/or accidental request. The incidental thing turned into natural custom and today the United States is the principal foodstuff exporter to Cuba. In effect, with bureaucratic limitations that imply exterior financing and I pay in advance by means of licenses of the Department of the Treasure. In spite of everything, every year they are exported to the island between 300 to 500 million dollars in products. Then, it was not for pressures of republican taxpayers (absurdity, the republicans have been historically the hardest opposite to the dictatorship of Castro) but for a "hollow" in the laws of the sequestration, that today the island realizes commercial agreements with the United States.

lEl mister Uzal, further on, points:“ To conceal this fact (the flourishing commerce with Cuba), Bush decided to take from the Cuban that they live here through the permission of traveling to the island and reduced the quantity of money that can send to itself Cuba”. With regard to the first, false thing. Every day, at the dawn, there go out planes of the airport of Miami – it is easy to verify it - towards Havana replete of Cuban passengers to see his relatives. There are restrictions imposed by the White House, because supposed exiles were traveling numerous times a year to Cuba, and a Swiss bank: Creditt Suize? - it was fined by 100 million dollars on having verified the Department of the Treasure that Cuba was “washing money”. Finally, mister Uzal thinks that “New Ike came to finish the work that the first Ike (Eisenhower) began”.
That is not false, it is ingenuous. The one who suffers they are not those of above, but the people, defenseless, that has to listen to nonsense as the declarations of the Cuban chancellor, Felipe Pérez Roque, arguing before the UNO that the cause of that Cuba cannot recover of the dashing of the hurricanes (Gustav, Ike), it is the Yankee blockade; or the same gentleman, on behalf of his anarchy, pushing back on September 19, also for political reasons, the direct help to the injured ones who wanted to send to him 25 nations of the European Union.
This reminds to me the affirmation of the Cuban writer Carlos Alberto Montaner, who said that Roque's appointment has been the craziest diplomatic designation since Calígula was naming consul to his horse. Since he wants that it is, it is obvious that mister José R. Uzal should know the topic on which he writes or, on the other hand, Take note of the wise reprimand of the King of Spain, blessed be: Why do not you keep silent about yourself?
