In the United States what it counts is not the weight of the vote of every individual. What in fact they count there are the "weight" and the votes.
The Hispanics we are a powerful economic block, with a combined purchasing power of more than one trillion of dollars; but we are not yet an important electorate block. We all are, before the eyes of the American public opinion, undocumented immigrants. There is no way of admitting to simple sight what Hispanic has right to vote and which not. In spite of being the most numerous minority of the USA, the Hispanic vote is significant only in Florida and New Mexico, the states that can affect significantly the results of the national electoral count.
Those who make the living analyzing the voting patterns, weigh and measure who vote, when and why. These analysts are conscious that the Hispanic vote is not yet decisive in the national ambience. Between the Hispanics who exercise his right to vote, which there are the only ones that count, the topics of the education, the care of the health, the economy and the war against the terrorism are more important than the immigration. Only 27 per cent of the Hispanic voters consider the extremely important immigration on having decided how to vote. Much more important that the immigration there are the health, the work places and the education.

In the topic of the immigration, 80 per cent of the Hispanics agree with the plans of the Democrats to solve the problem of the undocumented immigrants. In fact, the topic of the immigration is not very important for the Hispanic voters. Those who go, plead and fight actively for the rights of the undocumented persons, seemingly they have no right to vote.
Most of the Hispanic voters indicate that the federal government must provide medical insurance for all the Americans and they would be ready to pay more taxes or more high insurance premiums to increase the number of policyholders. More than 60 per cent of the Hispanics worry about the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The topics of immigration and health are again in the political frame. The contribution of the Hispanics in these national debates has to include our weight and our votes.
