Spellings urges to schools to go out in search
of the Hispanic families |
A fundamental change will happen in the relation between the educators and the parents of the students and for it it has got ready to strengthen the requisite of which “the schools look for the families regularly”, affirmed the secretary (minister) of Education of the United States, Margaret Spellings.

“ The schools – said Spellings, in a speech that it pronounced during the last convention of the National Council of The Race, in Texas - begin to put more of his part to communicate with the parents”.
It revealed that in the elementary school Gainesville, in Georgia, “the teachers have gone of house at home to come to the Hispanic immigrant families”.
“ Even parents and teachers have realized consultations between in laundries”, it mentioned.
On this matter, he congratulated to The Race for being be employed at this front. “With his support, the Institute of the Parents for the Quality in the Education (Parent Institute for Quality Education), in San Diego, helped hundreds of families of immigrants to be more active”, it showed.
Spellings also ratified his commitment “of doing that this law works for all the students, including to those who learn English for the first time”.
He announced immediately that she is summoning to a group of work, constituted for investigative and educational, so that to find the best ways of evaluating the above mentioned students, “to assure that they should be supported to the step with other students in his schools”.
After invoking the help of all so that the law “That No Child Remains Behind” works perfectly, Spellings insisted that the Hispanic parents should inform moreover in the schools.
Nevertheless, after admitting that sometimes the cultural barriers and of the language they make it difficult, it offered to increase the number of programs that they answer to the needs of the Hispanic students.
Further on, the Education secretary revealed the obvious increase in the puntajes of the nine-year-old Hispanic students of age, both in reading and in mathematics.
“ The puntajes of the Hispanics increased in 12 points in reading, “while in mathematics the breach between Hispanic and white students became closer in an excellent way”, he added.
Spellings admitted that the puntajes for the 17-year-old students “have remained quite stagnant”, because the first reforms round “was centred on the youngest pupils and on the reading”.
“ Now – it specified - we must extend to our secondary schools the benefits of the rigorous criteria as well as the responsibility of the results”.
In the convention also there became present the democratic senator Hillary Clinton, of New York, who supported that she is not sure that the government of the president Bush does the necessary thing to raise the educational level of the students of Hispanic origin.

The recruiting in the Army, whose numbers have come to his lowest indexes this year, “it is a national problem and not only of the Pentagon”, affirmed the Joint Chief of Staff of the United States, general Richard Myers.
In a press conference that it offered on Monday, the 25th, Myers urged to the citizenship to interfere in the defense of the country, especially against the dangers of the extremism.
It pointed out that in spite of a light increase in June, the number of new recruits keeps on causing worry. Also he emphasized that the different bodies of the Army have managed to retain, on the other hand, to his personnel at the end of his mission.

" Many Americans do not perceive that his everyday lives have turned out to be affected", but "the country is in war", he added.

The crowds or bands continue and there will keep on being a problem in our communities, if we do not give immediate solutions. Unfortunately this epidemic of a local plane has been encompassed without having an effective remedy. It is a worrying situation that is touching to a big percentage of families of Hispanic origin. We find the hooligans in all the cities of the North American soil, although there stand out Los Angeles, Houston, New Jersey, New York; Wheaton, in Maryland; Silver Spring, Fairfax, Arlington and Prince William, in Virginia.

And although we are surprised, Central America is not alone the seedbed of the violence and the bands. They attack and counter-attack of any place of the world, without importing race, religion, social status. But the question that we all do is: What is the solution to the problem?
Very well, honestly I believe that there are many solutions, but the most effective are the prevention, the education, etc. As for the prevention, it is in the family, since according to our analyses investigativos the origin comes from there.
It makes me sad to say it but they are mostly family parents those who are guilty, for ignorance or for lack of direction towards his children.
It is incredible that 80 per cent of family parents nowadays have no time to dedicate it to his children, since they think that to survive 2 is necessary to have ó 3 works without resting, to obtain material things, or to like his children in his aftertastes or malcriadeces. Since nowadays, with the formation of the schools, many young people enters in the age of the competitiveness: who is the best, which dresses of more famous marks, the strongest, popular one, domineering one or the one that differs for not obeying his parents, taking them the opposite one or feeling independent.
Nowadays we it have left only, to favor or to the care of the computer, the Internet, the television or the metallic music to the young man. He lives in a world that he invites to the violence, without future, without identity or belonging. That's why we ask the family parents to take seriously the situation of his children, who commit themselves more in the education, which they share more the time, which they are always vigilant on the companies of his children. That are not afraid about denouncing the bad influences so that in the tomorrow they do not have to be sorry about it. Let's sow on the values and let's listen to peace and well-being.
