The answer of a state police officer of Maryland to the rapid reaction of a driver achieved the rescue of a finished family kidnapped by gunmen in Clinton, on Saturday, the 27th. |
Thanks to the opportune reflexes of a man, an agent of the law managed to capture an assailant who, together with another two accomplices, had supported twelve hours kidnapped the members of a family in his own house located in the street Briarcliff Drive, in Clinton (Maryland), situation that supported in vilo the community of the area.
Members of a band delincuencial had followed on Friday, the 19th the manager of an agency of Sun Trust Bank, in Silver Spring, up to his residence in Clinton. Before she was entering to his hearth, about 7:30 p.m., it was intercepted by two subjects, one of them armed with a gun and other of a dirk.
Down threats forced her to enter the house, where it was his husband and his two 8 and 11-year-old minor children.
The matrimonial couple was tied of hands with electrical drawstrings while the children were watched by both strangers. This way they happened the whole night and the dawn, a real nightmare that continued until 6:30 a.m. of Saturday, when the subjects said to them that they should go out and should get in the motorcar of the family. Then they they indicated to the husband that conduciera in the direction of Sun Trust Bank de Silver Spring, while they were putting the cannon of a gun between the ribs of the 11-year-old child.
Risky action
It was 7:30 a.m. and they were already in the Interstate one 495 when the husband saw a state patrol at the edge of the way and began to drive erráticamente, passing of a rail to other in a rash way. The patrol continued it and made to stop the car. Nevertheless, what it continued was a surprise for the state police officer Barrington Cameron, in charge of the intervention. The fact is that the driver was doing rapid signs to him and then, he said softly but egg white: "he has a gun, he has a gun, he has a gun …!”.
Cameron pulled out his weapon fast and made to lower the suspect identified like 24-year-old Yohannes Surafel, whom it arrested. Then it rescued four members of the family and recovered the gun that the kidnapper was taking.
Soon the police surrounded the residence of the manager in Clinton, but another suspect had already escaped. Some hours later, 23-year-old Yosef Tadele, it was delivered.
At the end of this edition the police was after the steps of a third suspicious one, described as of African American origin – such as the two first ones – with 5 ’7 " of height and approximately 160 pounds in weight.
The history does not end there: Surafel tried to commit suicide on the same night of Saturday, the 27th in the cell of the prison of Prince George's, using his shirt. It was taken to hospital of the county, where it recovers under severe alertness.
Meanwhile, the calmness returned to Clinton's local community, where the population had praise words for the neighbor who reacted in a risky way but with a good end: it saved his family. And also for the rapid answer of the police, which it put after the grills of the prison to a dangerous band and avoided a theft that could bring baneful consequences.
