The chief and his wife, the first lady Michelle, left aside his habitual occupations to head the ceremony, to which Obama called “one of the most important traditions” that are programmed annually in the presidential residence. At once also there took part singer Fergie, who interpreted the national anthem.

Dialogue in missives on migratory reform

Obama answers to the father Hoyos

Barack Obama wrote to the father Eugenio Hoyos. Photo: AP.

After the father Eugenio Hoyos asked, across a letter his habitual column of Washington Hispanic, the President Barack Obama for a just migratory reform, the chief had the gentleness of answering to the prelate promising to solve this problem.
Across his column, Holes he asked the President “to give him importance to the migratory (...) topic is time to give order without fear to stop the raids, to which the immigrants could arrange his migratory situation, which those who are protected by the TPS do not continue every year in the migratory limbo and that is already just grants temporary residence to them”.
With date April 7, Obama is grateful for the worry of the priest and admits that this topic often has been an object of the politicking of Washington, what has prevented one from being able to advance in a migratory reform comprehensiva.

The answer

Darling Rev. José:

Thanks for his letter. I am grateful to him for his worry on the need to arrange our immigration system, and share his desire to expire with this insistent problem.
We all are joined under the beginning recorded in our Statue of the Freedom: "Give me your tired ones, your poor, your masses acorrucadas gasping to breathe at large”. Our Nation has always prospered from this generous spirit and the hope. Nevertheless, today, our immigration system is broken and a big part of our economy depends on million workpeople who live in the shades. We are a nation of laws and an immigrants' Nation, and it is necessary to conciliate the traditions.
During a long time, the politicians in Washington have taken advantage of this topic, divide us instead of looking for practical solutions that us one. We must do aside the politics and offer a finished solution that assures our borders, makes to fulfill our laws, and I reaffirmed our rich tradition of receiving the immigrants.
A wide consensus exists concerning the construction of a solution that stops the flow of undocumented workpeople across our borders and prevents the employers from hiring undocumented workpeople. Nevertheless, we know that the application is an only one part of the solution. Also we must demand that the undocumented immigrants who are already here should go out of the shades towards a responsible way to gain him the citizenship by means of the demonstration of a resounding character, the commitment to America, and strong work ethics.
Up I cheer him to join me in line in www.whitehouse.gov / agenda / immigration to learn more on my points of view on this important topic and to share his thoughts. Once again, thanks for writing.
Sincerely,
Barack Obama
