A part of the avenue Vermont, a block of the White House soon it might be closed once a week Obama turned on a market outdoors of agricultural products, what it will allow to take to the table of many hearths, incluída to that of the family food fresh and cultivated locally.
Although credit has not happened that the idea comes straight from the First Lady, Michelle Obama, one speculates that missis Obama sees with very good eyes the opening of a market of fresh products close to his hearth.
The official version would be that an assistant of chef of the White House submitted the idea before a community group, which was requesting a permission of operations before the Department of Transport. The request was presented by FreshFarm Markets and they express that the avenue Vermont would close between Lafayette and McPherson Square, a diagonal where there are located the offices of Export-Import Bank, General Services Administration and Veteran Administration.
The establishment of the market and by consequence the closing of the avenue would be realized in every Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m. from September 17 until October 29.
For his part the secretary of Michelle Obama, Katie McCormick preferred not to comment.
For the time being there is missing also the approval of the Commission of Commission of the Local community (ANC, for his initials in English), which listened to the proposal one month ago across a presentation of the assistant of chef of the White House, Sam Kass, who mentioned that the President and the First Lady have supported initiatives on nutrition and the virtues of cultivated food locally.

Seven already add the places where the Hispanic Literacy program is offered in a free way / Latin where with the help of voluntary teachers it is possible to learn to read and to write in Spanish.
It started with two pupils improvised in the basement where there was living his founder, Mario Gamboa, who by means of steadfastness and passion for the mission that it realizes has done that the literacy program is recognized and expands increasingly.
Since Queen of the Americas began operating formally in a classroom transferred by the program Language ETC in the church in Washington DC six promotions have graduated doing a whole of 400 persons, who without importing his age, his origin did not even change his lives.
“ My big satisfaction is to see the progress of these persons, mostly immigrant Central Americans, who devoted themselves to work so that his children study postponing his goals”, it tells Washington Hispanic, Mario Gamboa.
His founder points out also that often they come to the program without being able to write his name and be a witness of the confidence that they begin having when they can read and write is "impressive".
Also the program not only is designed for the one that does not know anything, but also for those immigrants who being bilingual, in most cases neither read, they do not even write Spanish. The course also is even opened for those persons who want to improve his skills of reading, mathematics, writing and personal development.
“ The program counts at three levels and also we incorporate chats of self-esteem and personal overcoming”, tells Gamboa.
At present there are seven the places where the program is given, being the Latin-American Center of the Youth in Washington DC, one of the organizations that not only opened the doors to him but supports to the program with logistic and didactic material.
The Hispanic Literacy program / Latin also Carlos Rosario is in the consulate of El Salvador, the school, and from this academic cycle in the church Sacred Heart, located in 3211 Sacread Heart Way, NW, Washington DC.
The Gamboa sleep
The increase in the number of pupils that is seen year by year has demonstrated the success of the program because it covers a big need inside the community. For this reason the biggest projection of the Literacy program is to go so far as to have its own building, not only for facility of the pupils but to extend more instructional programs and literacy in Spanish for the community in general, be immigrant, children of immigrants or Americans who want to learn Spanish.
Other of the points keys of the acceptance of the program is the universality of the currícula because Gamboa has created a special cradle in six different instructional programs and literacy of Latin-American countries.
“ That marks the difference because we do not teach, for example, only on the history or Mexican, or Salvadoran culture, but focus in a general culture”, tells Mario Gamboa, who also is employed like young people adviser at the Latin-American Center of the Youth.
If some organization wants to collaborate with this sleep or some person is interested in turning into voluntary teacher or donating teaching material 607-3901 can communicate straight with Mario Gamboa to (202
