Venezuela throws the first satellite

Satellite “Simón Bolívar“ is ready for his blast-off in the spatial center of Xichang, in China.




The president Hugo Chávez accompanied by his Bolivian companion Evo Morales, attended on Wednesday, the 29th the throwing of the first Venezuelan rocket, which the chief qualified like "a socialistic satellite to the service of the people".

The spatial device, called "Simón Bolívar" in honor to the Venezuelan worthy, was thrown from the Xichang platform in the province Sichuan, in China, carrying the 5,1 tons satellite.

Kings of Spain visit Peru

The Kings of Spain, Juan Carlos de Borbón and Sofía de Grecia, initiated an official visit to Peru with the signature of an agreement of strategic association between two countries, meetings with the Peruvian authorities, and a trip to an important archaeological complex in the north.
