The president Hugo Chávez accompanied by his Bolivian companion Evo Morales, attended on Wednesday, the 29th the throwing of the first Venezuelan rocket, which the chief qualified like "a socialistic satellite to the service of the people".
The spatial device, called "Simón Bolívar" in honor to the Venezuelan worthy, was thrown from the Xichang platform in the province Sichuan, in China, carrying the 5,1 tons satellite.
They were them 00:53 of Thursday in China and them 12:23 of Venezuela, moment in which Chávez and Mulberry trees were finding at the Luepa station, to the southeast of Caracas, one of two centers of control in Venezuelan ground.
In this place they attended the throwing for television, in which there was seen a luminous column of fire that covered the platform and then the stela with the rocket rose and disappeared in the darkness of the Chinese night. Chávez applauded enthusiastically and he was embraced by Mulberry trees.
" In these moments the satellite is already in his orbit", affirmed later Chávez in message to the nation for radio and television.
"É ste is a satellite for the liberation, it is a socialistic satellite to the service of the people, to break with the technological illiteracy, for the sovereignty and for to contribute in the construction of the multipolar world", it added.

The satellite will remain immobile in the orbital position 78 grades west of the planet and will begin to give service, after approximately three months from tests, to beginning of 2009. One hopes that the device satelital also should give service to almost the whole Latin America.
Uruguay, which is a member of the International Union of Telecommunications from 1902, before the inability to throw a proper satellite due to the high cost, chose to transfer to Venezuela one of last two hemispherical orbits that he had left in exchange for 10 % of the capacity of transmission of the satellite.
" The agreement produces big benefits to Uruguay that does not have the resources to do investment, and for Venezuela, which did not have an orbit at his disposal", indicated the minister of Science and Technology, Nuris Orihuela.
More telecommunications

The Kings of Spain, Juan Carlos de Borbón and Sofía de Grecia, initiated an official visit to Peru with the signature of an agreement of strategic association between two countries, meetings with the Peruvian authorities, and a trip to an important archaeological complex in the north.
The Spanish monarches arrived to Lima on Sunday, the 26th to initiate the early Monday his activities protocolares, the first one of which it was a visit to the Palace of Government where they met the president Alan García.
In a ceremony deprived in Palace, King Juan Carlos imposed García la Orden de Elizabeth La Católica, in the Necklace grade, with which there are rewarded those Spanish and foreigners who help to favor significantly the relations of friendship and cooperation of Spain with the rest of the international community.
Also Queen Sophia did delivery to the first lady Pilar Nores of the Decoration of the Big Cross of this Order.
After his interview, the Kings together with García and his wife presided at the signature of an agreement named Plan of Strategic Association Peru - Spain, which as said the chancellor José Antonio García Belaunde, "it will mean to have a type of much more fluid and intense relation".
