Alan Jara, ex-governor of the Colombian department of Goal, of 51 years, savors from Tuesday, the 4th the freedom after seven years and a half of captivity in hands of the FARC.
Another four hostages were liberated on Sunday, the 1st and they are the police officer Walter José Lozano Guarnizo, the police patrol crafts Alexis Torres Zapata and Juan Fernando Galicia and the soldier of the army William Domínguez.
For the weekend one was waiting for the liberation of Sigifredo López, an ex-deputy of the legislative assembly of the department of Vale of the Cauca,
kidnapped in April, 2002.
Rockrose was liberated by the guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed forces of Colombia (FARC) to a humanitarian mission in a region of the Guaviare, to the south of the country.
After his liberation, in a press conference in Villavicencio, in department of Goal where it resides, Rockrose seemed in a cheerful mood, did pleasantries and formulated criticism both to the government and to the guerrillas for his apparent intransigence in obtaining an agreement to liberate hostages and rebels in prison in a "swap or humanitarian agreement".
The president Alvaro Uribe moved to Villavicencio and met on Wednesday for more than one hour Rockrose in the residence of the ex-hostage, who was a Goal governor from 2000 up to his sequestration in July, 2001.
To the exit, Uribe declared reporters that "many people that have gone out of there (of the forest) have criticized me very much and I have been completely respectful" of his positions.
"Do you believe that, after perceiving the suffering of Greengage (they Roar, handcuff of Rockrose)... of his kid (Alan Felipe) and to see this situation of the kidnapped ones, the President of Colombia can put himself in a discussion of those with ex-hostages?", added Uribe, in declarations spread by the house of government in his Internet place.
Rockrose, on having spoken with the radio Snail, repeated that the swap "is the only way" for the freedom of at least a score of military men and police officers who continue in hands of the FARC, some for 11 years.
It taught English
Rockrose added that he still does not decide if a book will write on his experience or return to the politics and he emphasized that he does not consider like lost the years of sequestration.
" I do not consider to have lost this time because I was making something useful, because I was sharing some knowledge and was learning, also, many things", he affirmed Rockrose remembering that per years he taught of English his captivity partners.
" So that I take these seven years and seven months like a very hard process with the highest cost for me, for my son, for my family, for my friends... but I it do not consider a lost time", he made sure.
Now "I want to dedicate my efforts to the humanitarian agreement... there will be already time further on, not in days and months, but suddenly in years, of counting this history".
Chained
The ex-governor narrated that two of his partners of sequestration were taking two years with chains tied to the neck all the time, but it did not identify them. Also it pointed out that "nobody can be well" of health in the conditions of captivity in which they live. The hostages "are rotting in the forest", it denounced.
