A Venezuelan was captured like suspicious in the death of two agents of the National Guard, close to the border with Colombia, crime that the government of the president Hugo Chávez attributed to Colombian paramilitary groups.
Vice-president Ramón Carrizález declared that the government believes that two military men were murdered by members of paramilitary groups, although it did not give details of the investigation.
20-year-old Johan Manuel Mora, was detained in a position of control of the National Guard, close to where the facts happened in the state Táchira, and the authorities are looking for another three suspects, it revealed Carrizález in a press conference.
Venezuela implanted more strict control panel in the frontier crossings since Chávez, limited to the minimum the relations with Colombia, in protest for the alliance that there were negotiating then the governments of Washington and Bogota to allow a major access to his bases to the American troops.
And it reinforced even more safety after the murders of this week, including the closing of frontier crossings in several points.
The military men received multiple shots on Monday, the 2nd in a position of control, located between Ureńa and the airport of San Antonio of Táchira, to approximately 30 kilometers of the Colombian city of Cúcuta.
During a televised speech, Chávez said that the murders are part of a plan of “destabilization“ orchestrated by the government of the United States with the help of the Colombian authorities and his opponents in the country.
On October 24 10 bodies were, eight of them of Colombians, died to shots for strangers in a Táchira area. Another corpse was recovered some days later in a nearby place and it was informed that there was a survivor.
The victims had been kidnapped two weeks earlier and Carrizález has said that also they were related to Colombian paramilitary groups.
