President of Ecuador promises on having assumed the second order

“Revolution will be radical”

The president Rafael Correa assumed on Monday, the 10th a new order of four years, opposite to 10 South American presidents in a ceremony in which he announced a radicalization of the “civil revolution” that his government impels and threw criticism of the Colombian government.
In a speech of one hour and 15 minutes and before Latin-American chiefs assistants to the ceremony between whom the Cuban president Raúl Castro was, the Ecuadoran leader said that “we are ready to stake the life for the change”.
The holder of the National Assembly, Fernando Cordero, to the beginning of the act took oath to Thong and later it imposed the presidential band on him with the traditional inscription “My power in the Constitution” with which he remained put in possession for a new order of four years.
The first time amounted to the power it was in January, 2007, but for order of a new Constitution approved in 2008 the general elections went forward and it was re-elected in April of this year.
In his speech, Thong emphasized that “we have concluded the first stage of our civil revolution and have concluded it in peace, in the middle of the majority approval of our people”.
“ We go to the radicalization of the civil revolution”, announced the chief, follower of the “socialism of the 21st century” that the Venezuelan chief Hugo Chávez supports.
To manage it, Thong affirmed that there will study in depth the work of the civil revolution five axes proposed in the first part of his management: the constitutional revolution, the economic revolution, the struggle against the corruption, the social, cultural and environmental revolution, and the sovereignty and integration, especially with countries of the south hemisphere.
In the economic plane it pointed out that it will breathe “the supremacy of the human being on the capital for us the human being is not one more production factor”.
About the foreign debt, he emphasized that “this government has not allowed it will not even allow some international bureaucracy to come to impose his politics on us”.
Also it referred to the possibility that military men of the United States operate from seven Colombian bases for the combat to the drug trafficking and to the terrorism.

The president Hugo Chávez asked on - Sunday, the 9th of August – that his armed forces that should be prepared for a possible confrontation with Colombia, on having warned that the plans of Bogota of increasing the American military presence in his bases represent a threat for Venezuela. The Colombian authorities said that Venezuela is not right to be alarmed.

Moderating Insulza
The Honduran temporary Government accepted the arrival of a chancellors' mission in search of a solution to the political crisis in the frame of the proposal of the mediator Oscar Arias, after having pushed it back for being headed by the General Secretary of the Organization of the American States (OEA), José Miguel Insulza. The arrival of the OEA was postponed up to new notice.
