*- Our dear friend Eva Rey presents before herself on Friday, the 26th of October with his show of “Malambo, Boleadoras and Small farm”, with folklor 4 in Gaucho Earth, along with her Skill and Susan will be neither more nor less than.
*- Gian Carlo is Chinese of laugh because it has managed to make one of his sleep real. In our next edition we will present tremendous reportage of his achievements to them.

The Natural history museum and the Latin Center of the Smithsonian, jointly with the Popular Art museum, Washington Hispanic, the embassy of Mexico, the Cultural Institute of Mexico and the Office of Latin Matters of the Mayor (WAVE, for his acronym in English) invite the whole family to inform of MexicoFest 2007 as part of the celebrations for the Month of the Hispanic Heredity.
The program of Mexico Fest includes diverse cultural and manual activities for persons of all the ages, as well as exhibitions about the projects of the museum related to Mexico.
The event will be realized on Saturday, the 13th of October, of 10 am. to 4 pm., in the second apartment of the museum, located in National Mall.
All the activities are free and they will be available by order of arrival.
The public who visits Mexico Fest will enjoy a varied scale of activities from exhibitions of art, workshops of drawing, games and many contests. The children will be able to appreciate the marvels of the natural world and will contact him across original games and activities for example he will learn to realize fantastic animals done with fruits as the made dolls of corn sheets. Also the traditional game of the lottery will be realized, but with figures of animals and verbs in Spanish and English.
Between the exhibitions it will be possible to appreciate a collection of photos of Mexico of the National File of Anthropology. The dance will be in charge of the recognized company of dance of Marú Montero. In the same way there stands out the exhibition “Mexican Treasures of the Smithsonian” that will be opened to the public until November 11 in the international gallery of S. Dillon Ripley Center, 1100 Jefferson Drive, SW., Washington DC.

With one “Welcome“ good pronounced in Spanish, the president George W. Bush gave beginning to the homage that annually the government of the United States does to the Latin community in the Month of the Hispanic Heredity.
In the beautiful Garden of the Roses of the White House, there met about hundred fifty guests, between whom there were Ann Cabral, secretary of the Treasure.
To the rhythm of the Cuban sound it paid to itself tribute to the recognized musician and Cuban composer Israel López, more known like “Cachaoæ, who came in wheelchair and being helped by a cane, of the arm of Emilio Estefan y Omer Pardillo, rose to the small scaffold raised for the occasion.
The Cuban musician “Cachao“, at his 89 years, touched in the White House the Cuban notes, achieving that they all were moving to the sound of “Like my Rhythm there is no Two” and “Guatanamera“.
The reaction of Bush
The president Bush mentioned his admiration for “Cachao“ and said also “This man still keeps on having energy. Can they believe it?”, wondered Bush surprised by the energy and trajectory of “Cachao“, winner of several awards Grammy and considered the inventor of the mambo and teacher of the discharges.
On having finished the presentation, Bush rose to the scaffold to congratulate them and praised the participation of the group that was armed by Emilio Estefan, who as in the previous years he was the person in charge of the artistic part in the White House. The president Bush asked minutes before the interpretation of “Cachao“ for the liberation of “all the political prisoners” in Cuba.
During his artistic trajectory Cachao it was one of those that the Mambo popularized and it has obtained many awards including the Grammy of the year 2005.

The summer period came to his end on Sunday, the 7th of October with the Hispanic Festival of Cox Communications, and the festivals stage was considered concluded outdoors.
About ten thousand persons gave themselves appointment in Downtown de Herdon to enjoy of an evening full of companionship and familiar heat. And, like saying goodbye, the climate also contributed to the success.
The scaffold of the Festival was provided with a wide artistic variety, between that it was possible to see the Group Cotton, with the precensia of his singer Lemus, who made to be delirious of happiness to the assistants on having intoned his old and new topics.
The presentation of the group Green Pastry a separate mention deserves. They, after his tour along Japan, are singing better than never his music of the memory.
The fanatics of the rock had with Mom Basket to his maximum representative.
The homanaje emphasized also to Celia Cruz that Laura Mao was in charge of the sonera, and that of Héctor Lavoe realized it the singer "Tolls".
The genre that is imposed came from Dominican Republic with the Prince of Bachata Javier Julián.
The occurrences of the clown Sonrisas and Lagrimitas in company of the magician Poly, did the very agreeable evening to the children.
Since in the previous years there was not missing the folklore, the African one of Mamauca and the desgustación of meal; as well as the sale of craft.

It came up to our writing with his new disc under the arm, with a wide smile Jerry Rivera says to us “Here it is ‘It costs Below’”, one of the discs that I dreamed to record and today it is the whole reality, this one defines puertoriqueño, of 33 years that he even sang in our offices.
This way we initiate the dialogue:
Nelly: Why did you choose the Gardel tangos?
Jerry: Nelly looks what it spends is that I was raised by my parents, listening to this music. Although my genre is tropical, as singer I can interpret of everything, but also he knew that to sing tango a special stamp is needed, that's why I gave him a genres versatility as it is the sauce. But on having listened to the disc, they will realize that I am not changing the extract to him into myself, only I impregnate my style.
All the topics does it have “Caribbean Sea Gardel”?
The CD has ten topics, between them the Gardel outstanding figures like "Turning", “The day that you love me”, “For a head” and “It costs below”. They were adapted in tropical version and they sound to sauce rhythm, bachata, cha-cha-cha and danzón. To interlace two genres with his different styles seemed very interesting to me.

How do you define your new draft?
It is a miscellany of tango and sauce. We might say, a tropical tango. After having recorded 17 álbumes and more than five million sold discs, I can say that with “Caribbean Sea Gardel” it is the first time that two so important Latin genres join, with seemingly different rhythms, but joined by the passion of his compositions.
I feel you much thrilled with your new disc
Like that it is. To record a tango disc has been a very strong experience. The tango has the only, sensual, glamorous rhythm. And the letters and melodies are of a big quality. The disc was already thrown internationally in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Does Jerry Rivera think to record a bootblacks' disc along with his father?
You touched an important point in my life. I do not discard it since the topic that I recorded with my father pleased very much and particularly I like how my dad Edwin sings, but also there is in way to record with my brothers Edwin and José.
Would you dare to tell me anything of your personal life?
I have no problems. I define me as a person who loves his family. My children and my wife are very important for me and I try not to trump them.

Rivera and the sauce
The Puerto Rican salsero is provided in his trajectory with the record productions “Beginning living” through (1989), “Opening doors” (1991), “Account with me” (1992), “child's Face” (1993), "Otherwise" (1998), "Rivera", “It flies very highly” (2002) and “Moan my life” (2005).
The famous person “child's face” will keep on promoting his disc “Caribbean Sea Gardel” in New York, in the area west of the United States and in Miami.

After almost one year dedicated to his family, singer Olga Tañón is of return in Puerto Rico with new image and record production.
The artist was immersed last year in the upbringing of his children Gabriella Marie (11 years), Indiana Noa (3 years) and Ian Nair (four months), and now it is back to present his new disc “Successes in 2 times”, that goes on sale on November 20.
“It has been to me well difficult to return because I have been one year without working very much and have been dedicated to my children and to my husband (Billy Denizard), and really that to stop the babies, since you know already, was difficult. It is the first time that I have left so much time at home and believe that it is stronger for me that for them”, communicated the artist, who recorded the video of the topic “Today I want to confess”, the first simple in promotion of his album.
Olga Tañón, who has returned to his original look with the black hair, said that his three shoots are “beautiful and with a lot of health”.
The singer, on the other hand, has managed to lower several of 212 pounds that it went so far as to increase in his last pregnancy, but he makes sure that 14 pounds still reduce him to achieve his ideal weight, which did not mention.
“They know that pregnant I am nine months old grotesque and I had to bring in him to the well strong gymnasium to be able to return”, he communicated.
In his new record production “Successes in 2 times”, Olga produces homage to several singers, between them to Sworn Dew, Elizabeth Pantoja, Valeria Lynch, Maria Martha Serra Lima, Dew Durcal and Lucecita Benítez.
“They all are women. One of the things that I wanted to do, apart from honoring many wives of the foreigner, was to sing a topic of Lucecita Benítez. Because for me it is the best voice that has Puerto Rico”, he stood out. “The Woman of Fire” interprets the topic “Decisions“, popularized by Lucecita.
“For me it is necessary that we, Puerto Rican, know that there are the people with big vocal capacity, because here until someone does not die, nothing is done to him”, he thought.
Olga Tañón spoke with the interpreter of “Genesis“ previously to record the topic and she gave him his "vote of confidence" so that she was recording the melody.
The album includes successes as “Love me in slow camera”, “The third one is the defeated one”, “the love broke us” and “Eternal love”. All the songs were recorded in new versions and they adapted themselves in the style of Olga Tañón.
