In maratónicas days and in less than one week a team integrated by doctors, anestesiólogos and nurses donated his time and his work to realize 120 surgical interventions to patients of scarce resources in San Pedro of Sula, Honduras.

These professionals with service vocation left his hearths and his centers of work in the metropolitan area to travel to Honduras, taking charge of his passages and expenses of demurrage, round a simple passion: To help.
The mission was an initiative as a whole between the Pan-American Medical Society (PAMS), the Pan-American Foundation for the Development (FUPAD) and the Foundation M.F. Roider.
“ From February 20 until March 7 the delegation worked day and night to be able to attend to all the patients previously selected by the hospital”, it expresses to Washington Hispanic, Amy Coughenour, the attached executive director of FUPAD.
The beneficiary was the Hospital Leonardo Martínez Valenzuela where there were realized operations of vesicle and rupture. Also the nosocomio got a donation of medical inputs for more than 100.000 dollars. The shipment included six beds of hospital, operations tables, more than 100 boxes of syringes and gloves, between other provisions.
“ For 40 years we have developed help programs to the countries most needed from the hemisphere. In this opportunity we join the initiative of the PAMS, who for three years offers this voluntary medical service towards needy patients”, adds Coughenour.
For his part the doctor and founder of the PAMS Berny Kreutz pointed out that thanks to these surgeries they could have relieved the pain of many persons and to transform his lives.
“ One feels a big satisfaction when these persons go so far as to thank you because many of them due to his sufferings could not work or were condemned to the pain. If it was not for this humanitarian work, these patients would have had to wait even more than one year to be produced”, tells Coughenour.
In this mission as a whole also there informed the office dela the First Lady of Honduras and the Honduran Association of Assembly plants, who donated the transport of the container with the inputs doctor.
Students also collaborate
As a value added to this initiative, the students of the secondary school Damascus in Maryland gathered rucksacks with useful students who were donated to The Children's Hearth Emanuel de Honduras.
In addition to the school articles, every orphan child received uniforms and more than 350 pairs of shoes were delivered.
