That does not untie the panic

It is undeniable that the nation confronts a worrying situation for the others. The recent decision to dismiss tens thousands of workpeople, spread on Monday, the 26th by companies that are icons of the American economy – like Caterpillar, Home Depot, Pfizer and General Electric, between others - it reflects a more and more shaded panorama.

Nevertheless, as a financial analyst supported, this is only “the top of the iceberg of the recession”.
In effect, the serious difficulties that affect the economy and the finance of the country have happened for more than one year, but they beat with major force to the sectors of the middle classes and to the most impoverished families. Only in December, 2008, for example, the "small" companies that have from 1 to 49 employees got rid of 281.000 jobs, while the "medium" companies (with 50 to 499 employees) cut 321.000 work places. 91.000 workers lost the "big" companies.

The new government of the president Barack Obama, after receiving this so heavy load he has decided to assume like priority point of his agenda the matter of the financial crisis. One of his first actions is to impel a two-party agreement of his legislation on an economic stimulus, which can border on 850.000 million dollars, assined to the massive generation of work places.

With this intention it met the republican work surface – today in the opposition - to explain his plan. The initial commitment is to have the legislation ready in the middle of February.

From Washington Hispanic we applaud that the president Obama looks for the support of two big parties to face the economic crisis. But at the same time we do an invocation to the members of our community so that they take his forecasts and confront this so difficult situation calmly and serenity. And if you are between those who have remained without work, the worst thing is to enter panic. Bear in mind that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, from the assistance of the local governments up to the support of a network of charitable entities of social service. Never forget that the solidarity moves mountains.
