We have always thought that the mass media have an important mission, not only to denounce but also to educate to the citizenship, in this case on the situation of harassment and of fear through that million immigrant families live in the country.
For that reason, we applaud and join to the position of the newspaper The New York Times – one of the most well-read and most prestigious of the nation and of the world - that claims to finish “repressive measurements that do not solve the problem”.
In a leading article published on Wednesday, the 4th, the newspaper of New York throws hard criticism of the recent raid against immigrants “without roles” in a factory of the state of Washington, as well as to the decision of the chief of the police of a county of Arizona, for having assigned to the local police the struggle works against the undocumented immigration.
The New York Times affirms that “the sporadic raids and the excessive police chiefs are not the answer”, and argues that the country “is not surer not in a better economic situation for the fact that a factory has been closed …” Adds that “the system under which million undocumented immigrants work, without hope to resemble the society, is not less battered”.

The newspaper recognized by his liberal tendency and that gave his support decided to the democratic candidacy of Obama in the past elections, formulates in his publishing house a very critical question: "Are to the control the president Obama and the Secretary (of Internal Safety, Janet) Neapolitan, or not?”, to raise an answer as conclusion: "That demonstrate it finishing the raids and to the abuses … Certainly it is necessary to do something to brake the undocumented immigration, but we are sure that there is a more intelligent way of doing it”.
Washington Hispanic sinks to this request of putting high place to the raids and because one starts working to do of the integral migratory reform a reality that he benefits as soon as possible to million families and to the nation in his set.
