Andrés Tobar for Delegadoen Virginia

On Tuesday, the 9th of June the primary democrats will be carried out for the Legislative Assembly of Virginia and there is a Hispanic there being postulated for Delegate by the District 47 of the House of Representatives of the state, which corresponds to the County of Arlington.

It is a question of Andrés Tobar, a man who has made way for himself, with effort and passion, but also with modesty and humility, so much in the professional field as in that of the community activism.

Tobar can give a big step if it receives the support of the electorate, but especially of those belonging to our community. His candidacy has woken up big reception from the first moment. And if it wins in the final November elections, opposite to his republican opponent, Tobar might turn into the first Hispanic democrat in being chosen for the state Legislative Assembly.

Merits remain Tobar. As well it is recognized by Chris Zimmerman, member of the Managing Council of the County of Arlington, “he contributes not only experience of work but life experience”. Resident in Arlington for more than 30 years, Tobar worked for 20 years like federal employee of the Department of Education. His community activism demonstrates like member of diverse organizations, the majority related to the defense of the social justice and the nutritive assistance, between others. It came to the director of the coalition of Latin organizations of Virginia and at present it redeems the charge of executive director of the Center of Employment and Education of Shirlington, a populous Arlington area.

Son of a family of agricultural immigrants of Mexican origin, identifies with the people who fights opposite to the adversity and knows thoroughly his problems. Tobar and his family harvested cotton and he newly learned English when he went to the school. His parents could neither read nor write, but he studied eagerly up to coming to the university and then obtaining a Master's degree grade in Social sciences with specialty in Education.

For these precedents and for his recognized provide of resolution and passionate defense of the just causes, Washington Hispanic endorses the candidacy of Andrés Tobar and asks for the support of the Latin voters for this activist who, in case of being chosen, will be the voice of the community in the Legislative Assembly of Virginia.
