“The difficult thing will be, when everything is finished, to distribute the funds and to see who between all will obtain something, and how much will receive”
The big attention in Washington is the stimulus bundle ecónomico that there promotes the president Obama as a help to the weak economy. The bundle of more than $ 800.000 millions is a part of the plan of the White House to inject money into projects and programs that the administration Obama assures it would support and would create work places while the country crosses for one of the worst economic crises in decades. Obama has had difficulties in obtaining support on the part of the republicans, who affirm that the bundle includes funds for unnecessary programs that would not help in anything anybody. And, of course, the democrats wonder where those were critical when the administration of the president Bush began his order with a surplus and ended with a deficit after an entire gastadera that no seemed to have end.
The bundle includes an extension of benefits of unemployment, a subsidy of the cost of insurance of health for unemployed persons and, between other things, a credit on taxes for the hard-working class.
The difficult thing will be, when everything is finished, to distribute the funds and to see who between all will obtain something, and how much will receive.
And not the whole drama in Washington this week had to do with the politics. In a federal court in the of the capital city, the Dominican pelotero Miguel Tejada pled guilty to lying to the congress – the minor crime - on what he knew of the use of steroids on the part of peloteros professionals. In 2005 he had said to a congressional committee that he did not know anything about the matter, when it turns out that yes he knew, and that he knew that in that one then several of the players were using these drugs prohibited by the big leagues, but Tiled he became the madman when the investigators him entrevisttaron. On having pled guilty, Tiled it faces up to 12 months of jail, but of course it will come to some agreement so that it spends a little time – if that happens – in the jail. The federal congress had been investigating to the big leagues and other professional sports, and some players now always say "yes", then that to have denied flatly that they used – or that there knew players who were using it – the above mentioned steroids.
Ironically, pleading guilty could affect his request for the American citizenship. Since pelotero in the big leagues, Tiled he is a legal resident, and has requested the citizenship. But according to the migratory laws, pleading guilty could stop the process, depending on how the migratory authorities interpret the laws. In this case it could be said that what Tiled it did is not a major crime and it will continue with the request, but everything depends on the interpretation of the law.
The lawyers of Tiled said that he understood what he was doing on having pled guilty, and they hope that it should not be a major problem, especially when Tiled it did not use steroids. He only is accused of lying on what he knew about others around him.
