Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Spain and Dominican Republic will be the countries that will be represented across his theatrical casts in X International Festival of Hispanic Theater that presents the Theater of The Moon. In this new version of the festival the Theater of The Moon will offer to his public a big variety not only in the styles but as for the optical ones under which there have developed topics as diverse as the migration, the different stages of the woman and up to a recreation of the life of the controversial woman who transformed the theater, Sarah Bernhardt.
“This year we have a big variety of proposals that also he answers to the Hispanic theatrical movement that the countries experience due to the changes that have taken place at government level. For example the topic of the migration that treats the Spanish cast, presents it like part of the reality through that they are living and somehow it is identified by us the immigrants that we are in the United States”, tells the director of the Theater of The Moon, Mario Marcel.
The night of opening of X International Festival it will be realized on Tuesday, the 9th of October and will present before itself to the first cast that will open the curtain on Thursday, the 11th of October. The first country in presenting his proposal will be Venezuela with “From The exile, to the meeting with the soul, the peregrinaje for the ground, and …”, a collective work of Theater Altosf under the guidance of Juan Carlos de Petre.
Then it will be passed to the Uruguayan production “Oh, Sarah!” of Ariel Mastrandea where a very important moment appears in the life of Sarah Bernhardt, a French artist who changed the structure of the woman into the theater. Later we will be delighted by the Argentine production “Women of 50”, a work of the company Liliana Pécora. Colombia becomes present with “Scores for an actor”, an individual work of caress and clown responsible for Edilberto Monje. Spain comes with “That the bailao take from us” in charge of the company Factory Theater, Ecuador with “Three“ in charge of the Group Quilago and Dominican Republic will present “The streets of never forgetting”, written, guided and interpreted for Waddys Jaquez.
“My biggest satisfaction as organizers of the festival throughout ten years is that the Theater of The Moon has been announced in the exterior. Annually we receive many proposals and I feel that it is fulfilled by a need more that with a sleep”, expresses Mario Marcel.
“This sleep has yielded his fruits and the community sees casts of his countries and finds out about many things that happen in his grounds. This festival has turned into a window that allows to our public spectator to see what it spends in Latin America”, added Mario Marcel.
The functions of X International Festival of Hispanic Theater it will be carried out in Gunston Arts Center Theatre Two, located in 2700 South Lang Street, Arlington, IT GOES.
