In Virginia
Marionettes for children

The marionettes were designed and armed in the study Richmond VA.

As part of the series of spectacles for children that presents the Theater Alden de McLean in Virginia, the company of marionettes and marionettes Barefoot Puppets has prepared “Turtles George”.

This work is inspired in the real history of “Lonesome George“, a giant turtle that was discovered in 1971 in the Spotted island, where one believed that his species was in extinction.
Sixteen marionettes between lizards, birds, wolves of sea and a turtle give life to the entertaining history in George's island.

The marionettes were designed and armed in the study Richmond VA and the music belongs to the composer Eric Weinberg. The institution Smithsonian describes the spectacle as a “fable that it cheers up and dignifies”, but at the same time it teaches the children about the impact of the man on the environment. This work is recommended for children from four years from now on.

After the spectacle that will be realized on Saturday, the 25th of October a workshop will be dictated on marionettes at 3:30 p.m. The children can take part in company of an adult and they will have the opportunity to learn how to do and to decorate a marionette or marionette.

The tickets can be bought in ticketmaster or in the same theater Alden, located in 1234 Ingleside Ave, McLean, Virginia. Brought in general US$ 12 and residents of McLean US$ 8. For more information to call (703 790-0123.
