Music in the Smithsonian
In the frame of the fortieth third Festival of Popular cultures of the known Smithsonian as Folklife Festival the music and his meaning will be explored inside the Latin culture. The program named The Americas: A musical world, it examines and presents the diverse and changeable universe of the Latin music. The festival will be carried out from Wednesday, the 24th of June until Sunday, the 28th, and from Wednesday, the 1st of July until Sunday, the 5th in National Mall (between the streets 7 and 14) from 11 a.m. a.m. Free revenue.
Latin-American guitar festival
From June 19 until June 21 there will be realized the Latin-American Festival of Guitar that will congregate to musical guitarists of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Portugal, Peru and Spain. The event produces homage to the legacy of the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa Lobos. The appointment is in the National museum of the American Indians of the Smithsonian. Argentine folklore
On Saturday, the 27th of June there will realize 22 Argentine celebration of tango, rock and folklore for 193 anniversary of the independence of Argentina. There will be ballet dancers of tango, contemporary musicians, crafts and typical meal. The appointment is from 4 a.m. p.m. in the Theater Thomas Jefferson located in 125 South Old Glebe Rd., Arlington, GOES.
Ballet in Columbia
Under the artistic direction of Tina Ramírez the Hispanic Ballet will appear in the Festival of Art of Columbia 2009. This group has incorporated the Latin dance, the classic ballet and the modern dance creating a proper style. The appointment is Saturday, the 20th of June at 8 a.m. p.m. in the Theater Rouse in Columbia, Maryland. On Friday, the 19th the members of the company will teach of sauce in the house Slayton in Wilde Lake Village Center during the so called Latin Night.
The operetta comes
This Saturday, the 20th and Sunday, the 21st of June Rick Davis and José Cáceres will present the big successes of the operetta like The big route, The verbena of the pigeon, The court of the Pharaoh to himself, between other magisterial pieces thanks to Unseries under the direction.
