We are in the year 1976. Norm Lewis (Cameron Diaz) is a teacher in a private institute and his husband, Arthur (James Marsden), is an engineer of the NASA. There are, in all the aspects, a normal couple that takes a normal life in the outskirts of the city with his young son... until a mysterious man with a horrible and disfigured face appears in his door and presents to Norm his proposal of alternative life: the box. Norm and Arthur, that only they have 24 hours to decide, face an impossible moral quandary. What they do not know is that, they decide what they should decide, terrible consequences have already begun breaking loose. Soon they discover that they cannot control the ramifications of his decision and that these spread much further of his destination.
