With a special programming, which begins on September 20, Discovery in Spanish joins the big celebration of the Month of the Hispanic Heredity, offering the premiere of “The march of the grapes”, the history of the peregrination that changed the history of the immigrant peasants and turned Cesar Chávez into the most important Latin leader of the United States.
March, 1966. Fields of Delano, California. Seventy grapes recollectors Mexico - American leave his mattocks in the ground and leave the fields, claiming more just wages, equality and respect. There begins this way the longest peregrination of protest of the history of the United States. They are accompanied by the banner of the Virgin of Guadeloupe and are led by a peasant of humble origin. What it began with 70 peasants going for the field, culminated 25 days more evenings in Sacramento with 10 thousand persons. This documentary narrates the real history of this epic march, and the birth of the most important Latin leader in the history of the United States: César Chávez.
