Fiat-Chrysler will produce 6 million cars a year

The general manager of Fiat and Chrysler, Sergio Marchionne, affirmed that this new created car alliance this year can reach a production from 5,5 to 6 million motorcars per year once the economy and the car market become stable.
“ We will come alone to 6 million units. Between we and Chrysler we will come there”, affirmed the Italian executive in the frame of the Lounge of the Motorcar of Frankfurt.
Marchionne emphasized that this number is critical for the survival of the car manufacturer, what caused guesswork if Fiat looks still other associates.
“ Let's wait until November”, affirmed Marchionne, when Chrysler will reveal his finished commercial plan, to indicate the orientation of the next quinquennium. “They will see if I come there for myself”, it added.
Fiat did an initial offer for Adam Opel GmbH, subsidiary European of General Motors, but it moved back from the conversations saying that the financing demands were not reasonable. Marchionne did not say if Fiat looks actively for the acquisition of other manufacturers, but he added to a specific question that was not interested in acquiring Volvo.
The sale of motorcars this year has been reactivated by the multimillionaire programs of incentives of money in exchange for replacing the old cars for new, both in the United States and in many European countries.
Fiat Group SpA took 20 per cent of the American manufacturer Chrysler LLC in June when this signature was submitted to a restructuring by failure, what it raised to Marchionne to general manager of both groups.
