10. - Kia Soul

The hopes of the inhabitants of Detroit – the City of the Engine of the United States - were coded in what would do the White House. Let's hope, for good of the industry, that with the opposing solution initially – a loan for 17.000 million dollars - there should turn out to be beneficiaries not only the captains of the industry but the consumers, with better models of vehicles, more economic ones and less pollutants.
THE LAST NEWS about the year was not pleasing for the motor-car industry in the USA and the rest of the hemisphere. General Motors de México, for example, announced that from December 22 it was starting the temporary works suspension in three of his plants in the above mentioned country, like part of a plan to reduce his production in North America (Canada, the USA and Mexico) opposite to an adverse world situation reflected in minor sales. The company said that the personnel will stop working and a part of the days will be on account of holidays. Little earlier, GM had announced the achievement of technical unemployments in 20 factories in the United States, Canada and Mexico and that it reckons to cut away in 250.000 vehicles his production in the first trimester of 2009. The normal production is 750.000 motorcars and trucks.
Meanwhile, the Japanese self-propelled companies are afraid that the ordeals of his rivals in the United States cause a collapse of the market that will affect them also. The spokesman of Toyota Motor Corp., Hideaki Homma, admitted that an important problem is that the manufacturers of Japanese cars in the United States share the same providers of parts as his American rivals. In spite of everything, we hope that 2009 should be better for the industry and that big ideas arise to achieve the goals that reactivate this sector.

A few months ago, the investments were raining on the industry of the biofuels of Brazil, but the world financial crisis has beaten hardly to this sector banishing to the investments and the credit.
" I am ready to start all my plans, but the opportunities have disappeared", there complained Robert Rodrigues, the Brazilian ex-minister of Agriculture that had to suspend his plans of establishing a company procesadora of ethanol due to the absence of foreign investors.

Nevertheless, studies show that more and more persons are covering major distances in his cars and without any company. " The people have his weaknesses, his secrets, some pleasures that generate theirs fault", he said. "The car represents a "sure" place for these persons, one in which they can listen to the songs that they do not want to put in his house or place of work".
