In the Egg-shaped Office of the White House – center of the power of the most influential nation of the world - the elect president Barack Obama (right) talked for two hours with the current president George W. Bush, who gave him a cordial welcome on Monday, the 10th.
It was the first Obama visit to the residence that it will occupy from January 20, 2009, after his round victory in the presidential elections of Tuesday, the 4th of November.

Historical welcome in the White House
Bush and the elect president initiate the transition of the power

The elect president Barack Obama met on Monday, the 10th the president George W. Bush, to whom it will happen in a pair of months, starting officially a series of acts that will mark the governmental transition in the country.

The president and the first lady Laura Bush waited for Obama and his wife Michelle in the south door of the White House, in a sunny autumn day.

The Obama remained in his future house during less than two hours. Michelle Obama covered the mansion of the Executive together with the first lady, and the elect president supported his first meeting face to face with Bush.
In the historical meeting, the president Bush said to his successor Obama that his maximum priority is to approve the free trade agreement with Colombia.

During the private interview, Obama also suggested to Bush for his last two months in the government to grant an immediate financial assistance to the struck American automotive industry.

Obama thought that the support to the automotive industry is needed now, not only to help the American companies but also the whole national economy, due to his enormous scope. The democrat, that January 20 will come to the White House, will be the first black president of the country and his party coreligionists will have the control of both cameras of the Congress.

For his part, Laura Bush gave to Michelle Obama a trip for the rooms that there occupy the president and his family, including the bedrooms used by the children of previous chiefs. Both spoke on the form in which it is lived inside the one that is perhaps one of the most famous residences of the world.

He announces priorities of his management during the first radial message

Obama: "The first thing, a plan of rescue for the middle class”

On Tuesday, the 4th, the Americans hoped in long lines that they were surrounding the schools and the churches reaching quantities that this nation had never seen. It was not importing who were or where from they were coming, what appearance they had or to what party they belonged; they went out and deposited his vote because they believed that in this country our destination is not written for us, but for us.

We all must feel proud because once again we show him to the world the power of our democracy and reaffirm the big American ideal, demonstrating that this is a nation where any thing is possible.

This week, I spoke with the President Bush, who offered nobly entire support and his assistance in this transitional period. Michelle and I met he and the first lady on Monday, the 10th to begin this process. This reflects the fundamental recognition of which here in the United States we can compete vigorously in the elections and challenge the ideas of one and other, but join in a common intention when the voting has already finished.

And that is particularly important in a moment in which we face the most serious challenges in our lives.

On the same Monday we dawned with serious news on the state of our economy. 240,000 works that got lost in October represent the tenth consecutive month in which our economy has lost works. In whole we have lost almost 1,2 million work places this year, and more than 10 million Americans are now without work. Tens million families are having difficulties to pay his accounts and to remain with his houses. His histories are an urgent reminder of that we are facing the biggest economic challenge of our lives, and have to act quickly to solve it.

Priorities fix

As a result of these worrying reports, I met members of the Together Assessor of Economic Transition, who will help to guide the work of my team of transition to develop a series of vigorous politics destined to answer to this crisis. As well as we must admit that only we have a President simultaneously and that the President Bush is the leader of our government in this moment, I want to make sure that we should be in march on January 20, because we do not have a moment to be lost.

Both we discuss several of the most immediate challenges for our economy and priorities fix on those that we must focus in the days and the next weeks to relieve the crisis of the credit, to help the hard-working families, and to restore the growth and the prosperity.

First, we need a rescue plan for the middle class, which he invests in immediate efforts to create works and to provide mitigation to the families that see diminishing his payment checks and seeing his savings disappearing.
Then, we will attend to the increasing impact of the financial crisis in other sectors of our economy, and will assure that the plan of rescue that was approved in the Congress should be work to stabilize the financial markets, while it protects the taxpayers, it helps the housings owners, and does not reward unnecessarily the handling of financial companies that are receiving governmental assistance.

Finally, we will go forward with a series of politics that will help to grow to our middle class and will strengthen the long-term economy. We cannot delay the priorities keys that I identified during the campaign, including the energy cleans, the medical care, the education and the mitigation of taxes for families of the middle class.

Allow me to end up by saying that I do not underestimate how enormous there is the task that we have ahead. We have done some things up to the date, and we will need to keep on acting during this transition and in the months that they continue.

Some of the decisions will be difficult, but the United States is a country strong and capable of recovering quickly.

I know that we will triumph if we leave the political bias aside and work together like a nation and that is what I think to do.

The educational community of the county of Montgomery (Maryland) produced homage to the student 14-year-old Tai Lam murdered to shots inside a bus “Ride On“ and demanded major safety and alertness. During the act, realized on Monday, the 10th, the mother and other relatives of the victim asked for justice. The police have identified three of the authors of the murder, all of the band Crowd Salvatrucha (MS-13), two of which ones are runaways.

Before a crammed auditorium shaped by family parents, teachers and pupils, where tension and deep pain was breathed by the murder of a school unpaid trainee to hands of a hooligan, the principal authorities of Montgomery (Maryland) promised to reinforce the safety and the alertness in the whole county.
It was in a community meeting that Blair Montgomery was carried out the night of Monday, the 10th in the secondary school, nine days after the crime happened inside a bus of the public service of transport “On Ride“.

About 11:00 p.m. of Saturday, the 1st, after a discussion between two groups who were traveling in the vehicle, several young people descended and then they re-entered for the later door, where one of them extracted a gun and shot at close range. Three adolescents were hurt, and one of them – 14-year-old Thai Lam and of origin Vietnamese - died soon in the hospital. Two survivors – one of them Hispanic - managed to recover and they were already discharged.

In one of the moments more dramatists of the community Monday meeting, the Executive of the county, Isiah Leggett, accompanied by the chief of the Department of Police officer of Montgomery, Tom Manger, gave the condolence to the mother, the sister, the grandmother and other relatives of the family Lam, there present, who crying and with tenuous voice only they demanded justice.

The appointment there was organized on the initiative of the councilman Valerie Ervin by the school Blair Montgomery and the department of Health and Human Services of the county, together with diverse community organizations.

In the course of the assembly, the public did long lines to announce his justice demand and to present suggestions. Several family parents asked “why the police officers do not rise to the buses of the public service occasionally”, to protect the safety of the passengers.

Manger answered that was going to consider the idea, which in the first instance he considered to be excellent.

Another neighbor proved to be missed by the fact that the bus where the murder was committed did not have alertness cameras. The director of transports of the county answered that the above mentioned vehicle was one of the few ones of the service “On Ride“ that was not possessing them, but he added that it had already got ready to finance this type of cameras in the totality of the buses of the public service.

For his part, the chief of the police reported on the arrest of 20-year-old Héctor Mauricio Hernández, which is accused by the death of Thai Lam. Also, he said that there are two fugitives identified like Gilmar Leonardo Rosemary, of 20 years, and 30-year-old Mario Ernesto Milán-Canales.

“ In accordance with the preliminary investigations, the three are members of the band MS-13”, indicated Manger, who asked for the collaboration of the citizenship to arrest the runaways.

Darryl Williams, the director of the secondary school Blair Montgomery, highlighted the trajectory of Thai Lam. “He was a student with honors, much wanted by all”, he said.

The pupils of the school cadre presented a video, in which they announced his testimonies of solidarity with the family of the murdered classmate.

At the end of the meeting all the presents shared an emotive wakefulness, along with a brief with burning sails and memories of the partner of classrooms tragically eliminated.

I never forgot it: his younger son who is present at the intermediate school might be be harassed in these moments by a sexual predator across the Internet … and you do not know it.

The warning was thrown on Wednesday, the 12th by the Department of Justice, during the throwing of the massive campaign “Project of Infantile Safety” focused in the Hispanics and it destined to prepare the minors' age development by subjects without conscience that use the cyberspace.

“ The Hispanic community has to of interested and speaking about this problem with his children, from before the adolescence”, there recommended the Manager of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Prevention of wrong, J. Robert Flores, in declarations to Washington Hispanic, after the ceremony realized in the head office of the Newseum, in DC.

The statistics of the Department of Justice are alarming. For example, one of the seven children, some of Hispanic them, gets messages for Internet, with orders that include their mailing of a photo the same nudes.

“ When these children realize already it is too much late, because this information or these photos stay sailing forever in the Internet”, told Cecilia Duquela-Fuentes, coordinating committee of the program.

The campaign

The campaign “Project of Infantile Safety” is an effort that initiated the Department of Justice in 2006 but this year it has focused for the first time and massively in the Hispanic community.
In this sense two Internet places have been created: www.ProtegelosAhora.org, where the family parents will be able to come, to be faced and to protect his children; and www.NoTeArruines.org, directed to the predators or potential sexual predators, so that they know the consequences which they will face of being overdrafts.

The OCDE confirms
World potency enters recession

The developed economies of the world, intensely affected by the financial crisis, are of course in a recession that the first semester of 2009 will last even concluded, according to the new prognoses formulated on Thursday, the 13th.

The Organization for the Cooperation and the Development Economic (OCDE) affirmed that the gross internal product of his 30 member countries might lower a 1,4 per cent in the first trimester of 2009. This contraction will continue in the second trimester, at least until the middle of the year.

It would mean that the industrialized world has entered now recession that will last at least three trimesters; the common definition of a recession is two consecutive trimesters. In 2009, the economies of these countries would contract 0.3 per cent.

Also, the economy of the United States will fall down 2,8 per cent in the fourth trimester, after a contraction of 0,3 % in the third one and 0,9 % in 2009. The economy of the Japan will contract next year 0,1 % and that of the area of the euro 0,5 %.

The United States, Japan and Europe are in recession for the first time from the crisis of between 1974 and 1975 for an Arab petroleum sequestration and a stock-exchange turbulency.

Also it is the first occasion that the economies of the three contract in the same year. After the first important perturbation on the petroleum market in 1973, Japan had an economic reduction in 1974 and one year later it was continued by the United States and Europe. Also, for the first time the OCDE perceives a general contraction between his member economies since it began to register statistics in 1970.

The new prognosis represents a drastic negative draft with regard to the brought one in June, when the organization predicted for 2009 an individual growth between his members of 1,7 %.
