By means of an executive order, the president Barack Obama arranged on Thursday, the 22nd the closing of the dark military jail of Guantanamo in the maximum term of one year and the centers of detention of the CIA in other countries, as well as the review of the judgments to suspects of terrorism and the prohibition to the examinations with cruel methods. |
The new government received this way the requests formulated by numerous defense departments of human rights both in the country and in the exterior, which immediately applauded the measurement.

The principal order means the closing of the very criticized military jail in the naval base of Guantanamo, Cuba, in less than one year, a crucial campaign promise. It is a question of a complex process, and there are still too many questions without answering.
The judgments in Guantanamo were suspended for 120 days to carry the review of the courts out.
The president Obama also adopted the following decisions, across executive orders:
1. — To Create a force of tasks that will be 30 days old to recommend rules on the way of fighting with suspects of terrorism who are detained in the future. Specially, the group will analyze adónde the arrested must be taken once they close the prison of Guantanamo.
2. — To Demand from all the members of the armed forces of the United States to respect the norms of the Manual of the Battlefield of the army when it is a question of interrogating arrested. The manual prohibits in an explicit way the threats, the coercion, the physical abuse and the "waterboarding" or submarine, a skill that believes the drowning sensation, and that is considered to be a form of torture by organizations of human rights.
3. — To Order to the Department of Justice to examine again the case of the citizen of Qatar, Ali to the-Marri, the only "hostile combatant" that is in American soil. The examination will analyze if it has to the-Marri the right to begin a demand to the government for his freedom, a right that the Supreme Court has already granted to the arrested in Guantanamo. The government alleges that to the-Marri it is an agent of to the-Qaida. Al-Marri denies it.
Executive orders
Between the presidential executive orders expressed from Wednesday, the 21st are the following ones:

The senator for Massachusetts, of 76 years, endures an aggressive cerebral tumor that was diagnosed in May.
The relative, who spoke under the anonymity condition, was not authorized to reveal the conversation between Kennedy and the governor, and he refused to give more details.
The laconic Kennedy bulletin went out after several hours of suspense in which she seemed to hesitate.
" I informed today the governor Paterson that for personal reasons I am withdrawing my name of the consideration for the Senate of the United States", it showed. Paterson did not do declarations.
