Close to the midnight of Monday, the 13th, after long debates and exchange of proposals, the Legislative Assembly of MD agreed, for majority voting of both cameras, to eliminate the driver's licenses expedition for the undocumented immigrants.
“ After a battle of seven years, in which there were supported the doors opened for thousands of undocumented immigrants, on Monday midnight they closed them definitely”, said to Washington Hispanic the legislative delegate Ann Sol Gutiérrez.
She was one of the most fervent advocates of the law that was allowing the securing of driver's licenses of a widest way and that was allowing tens thousands of workpeople “without roles” to be able to have a driver's license and, consequently, an insurance self-propelled.

Gutiérrez and other delegates proposed to support the current licenses, with an indefinite renewal. “But the reality is that there was too many pressure, and the suit turned into how many renewals might be allowed: if they were indefinite, or for the next fifteen years, but at least one managed to support still a renewal; and from July 1, 2015, all those ones that do not have his papers are going to lose his license of handling in Maryland”, it specified.

A military man of the American army and of Hispanic origin, which turned out to be an injured man in action in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, turned into citizen of the United States in an emotive ceremony presided by the Secretary (minister) of Internal Safety, Janet Napolitano.
The naturalization act was realized the morning of Friday, the 10th, in the lounge of conferences of the military hospital Walter Reed. Neapolitan was in charge of taking the corresponding loyalty oath to the Sergeant of the Army, Juan Luis Alcívar, who was hurt by shots of a sniper two years ago, in a street of the south of Baghdad.
“ I am very happy, since finally I am an American citizen”, said Alcívar, of 25 years, to Washington Hispanic.
He remembered that the members of his detachment were returning to his base after fulfilling a mission when they were emboscados for a sniper. A bullet affected his leg, but Alcívar kept on defending to his unit. Some weeks later, due to the gravity of the wound, the bone femur was replaced completely with a metal bar in a military hospital placed in Germany.
The courageous official received the distinction of the “Heart Purple” (Purple Heart) in recognition to his services and for the wounds received in defense of the nation.

The commission that supervises the rescue programs to the banks opened an investigation to determine if these increased his interests valuations, as the clients denounce, reported the rotary financier Wall Street Journal.
The president of the commission overseer – created by the Congress - Elizabeth Warren, confirmed that there is a current investigation on the supposed "inappropriate" practices of credit of the liberated banks.
In his edition of Tuesday, the 14th, the newspaper indicates that the consumers charged alleging that since the rescue plan was started to the financial industry, known like TARP (Program of Mitigation of Problematic Assets), the banks have raised his interests in daily deals, credit cards and loans. Nevertheless, the banks allege that his interests are similar to those of the competition and that they change depending on the solvency of the persons, and make sure that if they want to keep on being competitive his prices must fit.

One of the most prominent corners of the Spanish gastronomy in Washington has just fulfilled 20 years.
The famous Bar of the Halberdier, property of the Group Lezama and located in the street 18 with the Ist, in Washington DC, it celebrated with property his two decades of hakes with green sauce, tripe to the of Madrid one and wines of character that have added up to the culinary offer that offers the city.
But few ones know that the bar was caused by a priest, the father Luis Lezama, who conceived the idea of creating a gastronomic place of the first level that was devoting itself to classic recipes of Spanish meal. Like that was born the first bar in Madrid, in 1974.
I count shortly, his first restaurant was successful that had the opportunity to open one more pair in different leases of Spain.
Then, in 1989, the Spanish Secretariat of Commerce him approached with the idea of opening a restaurant of the same type in the capital of the United States.
The rest is a history.
With his two decades in Washington, the father Lezama has seen changing the city, which he recognizes is one of his favorite places.
“ Washington was much less cosmopolitan in this epoch in spite of being a capital. But with the time there have come many offices that earlier were in New York, the lobistas have increased and the city has taken a more international character. In Washington I feel very at ease, it is a city that I adore and it is very cozy”, he says.
Lezama has been a journalist, a writer, restorer, businessman and certainly priest, since now he practises in the Parish of Santa Maria Blanca in Montecarmelo, Madrid.
The interesting of his person is that it has a different perspective to be a businessman. But eye, in these times in which the capitalism is hardly questioned, Lezama does not meet like capitalist in the absolute thing, in spite of having conceived a managerial group that, in 2006, invoiced 15 million euros.
“ I am not considered to be a capitalist because I have anything in property. Everything is in property of a foundation that brings the people with whom it works and the public. I have not bought to myself an apartment, have a farm, neither a yacht, nor a personal caprice and use revenue cars. This is one of the successes of our company, to have developed everlasting the value of the human capital and to have re-invested in these facilities that are seen and in these people who has face and word. And finally in something that for us has been a leit motiv that is the innovation”, says the priest.
In spite of everything, the Lezama excellent thing his emphasis is exactly in creating groups of work that are not seen only in productivity terms, but like worthy persons who raise the value of an organization. “We do not grow according to the business that present you but in function to the human teams that you create. Here one thinks about values and persons. In other organizations the box is checked and only the profitability of the person who works. Here we are according to the ideas”, it concludes.
