A military psychiatrist who soon would be transferred abroad opened fire on Thursday, the 5th in the base of the army in Fort Hood, untying a shooting in which 12 persons died and 31 turned out to be hurt, reported military sources.

The balacera, the worst attack to shots in the history inside an American military base, began about 1.30 p.m. Shots resounded in the Center of Soldiers' Preparation of the base, said the lieutenant general Bob Cone, in Fort Hood. The mobile of the attack was not known. The federal senator Kay Bailey Hutchison revealed that the biggest of the army was going to be located soon abroad, although it was not clear if it would go to Iraq or to Afghanistan, not when the transfer was foreseen. Hutchison said that some generals who have his base in Fort Hood informed him about the next emplacement.

Military officials said that Hasan, of 39 years, was a psychiatrist of the Medical center Walter Reed of the Army, in Washington DC, for six years, before July, when it was transferred to the base in Texas. The officials, who consulted the military Hasan records, said that the performance of the biggest had received a bad evaluation when it was in Walter Reed.

The sources requested not to be identified because the military records are of confidential nature.

The soldier born in Virginia, was single and without children. It graduated of the Virginia Tech when he was a member of the Body of Reservists' Training of the Army (ROTC, for his initials in English), and obtained the biochemistry title in 1997. It was entitled like doctor in the university of Uniformed Services in Sciences of the Health, in Bethesda, Maryland, in 2001. In the center Walter Reed was a grant holder and resident.
The authorities investigate if Hasan was his name of birth or if one changed it, possibly on having turned to the Islam. Nevertheless, his religion was not known.

The shooting

ACCUSED WROTE TEXTS IN INTERNET

Officials said that the psychiatrist and major than the army Nidal Malik Hasan it had paid his attention for six months, on having published in Internet some texts on suicidal offenses and other threats.

The sources said that apparently, this content was published by Hasan, but they were trying to confirm it and an official investigation had not been opened.

The officials requested to remain anonymous for not having authorization to speak with the press on the case.

One of the texts checked by the authorities is a "blog", which was equipping the suicidal dynamiters with a soldier who rushes forward towards a grenade to save the life of his partners.

A sexual delinquent who had 11 corpses in his house received on Wednesday, the 4th an arrest warrant without possibilities of deposit and he was qualified by a district attorney like an incredibly dangerous “” threat.

The district attorneys pointed out that 50-year-old Anthony Sowell, might face the death penalty of turning out to be a culprit.

Five months after the clash that caused the death of 23 police officers and ten civil ones, in the Amazon region of Bagua, the minister of Justice of Peru, Aurelio Pastor, DC presented before himself before a panel of the Inter-American Court of Human rights (CIDH), in Washington, to denounce the “campaign of disinformation and manipulation” that generated these facts.

For 98 affirmative votes and none in against, the Senate approved on Wednesday, the 4th to extend the benefits of unemployment in 14 weeks and the tributary help to those who buy a housing.
