The president Barack Obama turned into representatives' host of 10 more influential Hispanic means of communication, between which there was Washington Hispanic, which were invited to the White House on Friday, the 7th of August. During approximately 35 minutes the president Barack Obama talked, with the serene touch and amical that characterizes it, with each of the members of the press on the topics that affect the Hispanic community, where it pointed out openly that it is compromised by an integral migratory reform, but that one will not see in the Congress until 2010.
“ To be selected to sit down along with the president and to be able to ask him opposite to front on the problems that affect us is a big privilege and a big responsibility towards our readership”, stood out the president of Washington Hispanic, Johnny Yataco, who was the maker of starting a smile to the president on having asked him: If it had a crystal ball for when would a migratory reform be approved?.
Before the question, the chief answered “If it should have a ball crystal he would be a very popular president... and richly”. Later he added “I cannot predict his approval. We will do a very strong effort on the migratory reform at the beginning of next year... I believe that we will see the making of the draft of a project of law for ends of 2009”.
In the outskirts of the White House there are hundreds of tourists, as always trying to immortalize his step along one of the most important structures of the world. We were there last Friday, the 7th, but to be present at what we think it would be a conference like those that the chief is accustomed to giving in the famous room of press of the White House, surrounded with hundreds of journalists. We are wrong.
The White House had summoned 10 of the most important Hispanic mass media of the United States and Washington Hispanic it was between them.
On having divided equally it 1:45 of the evening, they communicated to us that the appointment with the president would be in one of the lounges of the White House and not in the press room.
The summoned means, between which there were finding The Opinion about, The New Day of Puerto Rico, Univision-Nacional, New Average America, the agencies EFE, Reuters, Notimex and Hispanic Link, we happened with the surprise of which we would be seated with the President in a desk ("roundtable") and which the seats were already assigned to each of the presents. Once inside the quarter I happened with the surprise that along with my name, in the way of the table, nearby right, there was no name, supposed talvez that the seat would be for one of his advisers.
The president entered to the quarter and after three steps it was already opposite to me, out of the corner of the eye it looks at my name on the table, extends his hand and greets: "Hello Johnny: how are you?”, “very well president”, I answered him. The prosigue to greet others nine guests, and it sits down to my right.
In more than 30 minutes we talk on very important topics for the administration Obama in relation to our community like the migratory reform, health, housing and international relations.

Other interest topics
Also during the meeting the president had opportunity to mention on his plan to reform the system of health, the mortgage crisis, the economic situation, the approach of his administration on the migratory control and on the most excellent points of the reality in Latin America, like the struggle against the terrorism and the drug trafficking, as well as the preservation of the democracy.
Thinking that after the appointment of Janet Napolitano like safety head of department He Interns the raids they have continued and programs have been extended like 287 (g) that trains the local police to exercise functions of agents of immigration showed that “They Worry less of there do persons' criminals who simply are looking for work. Our administration worries more of fighting with real criminals and employers that workpeople exploit and in finding mechanisms where we could provide finally a way to give legal status to the persons who at present are in the country”.
In this frame the president Obama also admitted that extracting of the shades more than 12 million undocumented persons will have to wait until first there should be achieved a reform of the system of health and of the regulations to control the financial system.
Blow in Honduras was "illegal"
On the analysis of what happens in Latin America, the chief recognized that the blow military in Honduras that dismissed the president Manuel Zelaya was "illegal", but at the same time he regretted without having “a button” for restore it in the power.
The same way it qualified of “ironic“ that now criticize it for not intervening in a more direct way in the crisis that crosses Honduras and repeated that his government thinks about how to press the bonds hard with the region without "dictating" what happens with “our neighbors”.
As for the drug trafficker violence that crosses Mexico, the President Obama pointed out that the military answer of the president Calderón is “an act of valor”, but he did not comment if the Mexican government must continue or not with this strategy, but he noticed that the government, military men and the police must work as a whole in an effective way “to qualify to his personnel and to expire at the highest levels of the due process and the respect to the human rights”.

The department of Hispanic chaplaincy of Loudoun Christian Justice Mission Inc was created by the only intention of offering spiritual commission to the Hispanic prisoners of the jails for adults and the centers of juvenile detention in the Loundoun county.
According to Cristian Arbaiza, coordinator of the department of chaplaincy for the Hispanic community, every time there increases the number of Latin recluses who need spiritual support to face the difficult moment that has had them to live, often removed from his relatives. “We try to cover this emotional lack and speak to them about Christ”, tells Arbaiza. This department is the only one in the county therefore they do called all the churches of the metropolitan area so that they join this initiative.
With the intention of covering an unsatisfied need in the jails and centers of detention, as it is to take a word of hope and breath in the name of Jesus Christ the department of Hispanic chaplaincy was created of
Loudoun Christian Justice Mission Inc. For year and a half this organization without lucre ends decided to integrate to his prison department created in the year 2000, the program directed to the Hispanics due to the increase of the Latin community to the interior of the penitentiary centers of the county of Loundon, in Virginia.
The target of the Hispanic department is to visit the recluses and to offer them spiritual commission this way to be less difficult his painful seclusion state.
“ Many of the prisoners are immigrant that come to this country in search of a better life, but for circumstances of the life prisoners fall down and if they are undocumented the situation is more difficult”, it tells Washington Hispanic, Cristian Arbaiza, coordinator of the department of chaplaincy for the Hispanic community.
“ Even many of these persons cannot receive visits because his relatives cannot enter to the centers of detention because they do not have a document how to be identified. We moved by Christ's compassion try to cover this emotional lack and teach them to discover Jesus in his lives across the study of the Bible”, tells Arbaiza.
This department of Hispanic chaplaincy is the only one in the Loundon county therefore they do called all other churches of the metropolitan area so that they join this initiative which intention is to encourage the hearts of thousands of Latin recluses.
“ The need for our community is very big. With so many churches that exist at least a Hispanic prison department should exist in every county”, affirms Arbaiza.
If he wants to collaborate with this mission to communicate across the e-mail rivercre@gmail.com.
Prayer behind
bars
“ I was naked and you covered me, I fall ill and you visited me, in the jail and you came to me”. Mateo 25, versículo 36.
Based on Biblical appointments as this one the voluntary members of the department of prison chaplaincy expire with his mission. Every Sunday they come to the adults' jail and to the center of juvenile detention of the county of Loundon to teach to the recluses the new plan that Christ has for them. Conscious of his lacks and problems of the real world, like being removed from his relatives, not to be able to have access to a lawyer or simply be deprived of his freedom finds in this group of volunteers the necessary force to continue the way.
“ We do not impose any religion because most of recluses are catholic and we are Christian, and often they resist to the change. Simply we teach them to have a personal relation with God and recognize it as his only Salvador independently of the religion that they should profess”, makes sure Arbaiza.
Also the department also works with the families because they admit that being imprisoned generates a problem multiplier because it affects all those who are about the recluse. Also they offer personalized commission when the recluse requests it.
During the Sunday visits the interns pray and realize his personal requests creating chains of prayer.
“ We give them Bible and reading material in Spanish, but the need is very big therefore the collaboration of the community presses”, affirms the coordinator of the Hispanic department.

As part of the plan to improve the educational quality that is given in the District of Columbia, on Monday, the 10th of August initiated the demolition of the elementary school Bruce Monroe recognized for lodging a tall number of Hispanic students.
With the demolition there happened the first step of what will be the new and modern building that the administration of mayor Adrian Fenty promised to construct together with the education chancellor, Michelle Rhee in his emulation for raising the educational services of the District.
Per years the school Bruce Monroe, located in 3012 of the Georgia Bird., NW, Washington DC, served to the Latin community and was characterized for being one of the centers first in offering a (English-Spanish) bilingual program to the students from age pre school.
The school Bruce Monroe has fused at present with the school Park View under the impulsive plan of consolidation of schools also for the administration Fenty. While there is realized the process of construction of the new school all the pupils of Bruce Monroe are present at the school Park View at least of half a mile of distance. This way the programs have integrated for benefit of the students.
The school Bruce Monroe was lacking the suitable spaces and the building was very ancient what was not allowing to offer suitable ambiences for learning of the children. At the same time this decision answers to the process of revitalization of the avenue Georgia.

The Latin Senator of Florida, Melquíades Martínez (R), who had already announced previously that he would not look for the reelection for 2010, resigned last Friday, the 7th of August to his bench in the Upper House - a measurement that will allow to the governor Charlie Crist (R) to name a temporary substitute.
It is not the first time that Martínez - who did history as the first Senator Federal of Cuban origin - resigns to a charge in the middle of his management. Neither it is a secret that his support to a plan of integral migratory reform gained him the rejection of the most recalcitrant right. Also he was one of 9 republicans who voted last Thursday for the assertion of Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.
“ For 12 years I have served to the people of Florida, like Mayor and Senator. It has been a big honor and there came the moment to move back and to return to my private life”, said Martínez in press conference from Florida.
This way, Mel Martinez leaves a vacancy that might be covered by the proper governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, although some specialists doubt that this happens because the governor has aspirations to occupy a bench in the Senate for 2010 and it initiated his campaign with a lot of success.
Less Latin Americans
Martínez will remain in his charge until Crist, designates his temporary successor. If the successor is not Latin, it means that there will only be a Hispanic in the Senate, the democrat and cubanoamericano of New Jersey, Robert Menéndez.
Nevertheless, already in the political means several names as possible applicants are mentioned to the designation. Jim Smith, considered moderate republican, seems to be a firm applicant.
Other charges
Martínez - the one who also presided at the Republican National Committee (RNC) - resigned to this charge after an eventful management marked by the hard opposition of the republican right that he never accepted that the party was directed by a Hispanic that intregral worked in favor of the migratory reform, and that it did it of two-party form with the democratic senator of Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy, and with the republican senator of Arizona, John McCain, to whom they do not excuse his support to this reform either.
Proper Mel Martínez has expressed the need that his Republican party should be more enclosing and should think about how to attract the Hispanics.

Really, Shriver changed the vision of the Americans concerning the disabled mental ones, which happened of being patient imprisoned in sanatoria to friends, neighbors and athletes.
His works were inspired by his sister Rosemary, mentally incapacitated.
Eunice K. was also a sister of senator Robert F. Kennedy, wife of the candidate for the vicepresidency (1972) and the ex-director of the Peace Corps, R. Sargent Shriver, and mother-in-law of the governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Peter Collier, author of “The Kennedy, an American drama”, thought Eunice Shriver the “moral force” of the family Kennedy.
