At the age of 77 years, after fighting bravely and for fifteen months against a fearsome cerebral evil, on Tuesday, the 25th there died Edward (Ted) Kennedy, "León del Senado" and maker of hundreds of laws that today apply in the nation and that benefit to the citizenship in general.
In the Latin community, the Kennedy death caused stir and sadness. The democratic senator, who remained in the charge for 47 years, was one of the big sponsors of the integral migratory reform, I project that it failed, but that did not make it desist and, on the contrary, it urged the Hispanic activists not to allow to win and to keep on fighting “up to making this sleep real”.

Edward's death (Ted) Kennedy, although waited, it caused stir and sadness in the political world, which remembers it like a legendary legislator and the last surviving brother of the political dynasty that more influenced the recent history of the nation.
Kennedy, senator for Massachussets, died on Tuesday, the 25th victim of a cerebral cancer in his house in Cape Cod. He was 77 years old.
The president Barack Obama interrupted his holidays in Massachussets to pronounce a few words of duel, in which it praised Kennedy as “a singular figure” in the American political history.
“ Although we knew that this day would come, were waiting for it with supreme sorrow”, said Obama. “For his family, he was a guard; for the United States, he was the defender of a sleep. His struggle gave us the opportunity that was denied to us when they reaped the life to his brothers John and Robert: that of having the sacred time to be grateful to him and to say to him good-bye”, added the chief.
Kennedy was an intense activist in favor of liberal causes – like the biggest access to the systems of health, the struggle against the poverty and the rights of the immigrants and of the minorities - for his more than 50 years in the legislative body of Washington. He was a brother of John F. Kennedy, the president murdered in Dallas in 1963, and of Robert Kennedy, who was a secretary of Justice and who also lost the life before the bullets, in 1968.
In almost half a century in the Senate, Kennedy met 10 presidents and accumulated an impressive list of legislative achievements on the subject of health, civil rights, education, immigration and other areas.
Heir of the most powerful and fascinating political family of the United States during the XXth century, was erected in a paladin of the hard-working class, printing his stamp on a wide legislation body.
“ In five decades, practically every important part of a legislation to improve the civil rights, the health and the economic well-being of the American people had his name and it was a fruit of his efforts”, affirmed the president.

For the White House
Kennedy was mentioned often like potential presidential candidate. But it left aside any aspiration to the White House after a frustrated attempt in the primary ones of 1980, and it never tried to continue again the steps of his brothers John and Robert.
On having closed this campaign, it planned the footpath of his future politician in a speech that many people consider to be his most significant message.
“ For me, some hours ago, this campaign touched to his end”, declared in that one then. “For all those ones whose well-being has been our worry, the work continues, the cause lasts, the hope is still alive and the sleep will never die”, it pronounced itself.

The last battle
They diagnosed a cancerous cerebral tumor in May, 2008 and it had several surgeries as well as an intense treatment of radiation and chemotherapy. Later dque another brother, Robert Kennedy, was murdered when president was postulated in 1968, Ted happened to be the paternal figure for his nephews.

The coffin with the remains of Edward Kennedy will be buried in the National cemetery of Arlington, in Virginia, this Saturday, the 29th.
There are five members of the family Kennedy buried there: John F. Kennedy; his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy; his son Patrick, who lived two days, and unborn other. Ex-senator Robert Kennedy F. Kennedy is buried at short distance.

The governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, and ex-officials of his government will not be accused after a federal investigation on supposed influences buy.
